The TYPO3 Localization Team supports this budget idea! The Crowdin Bridge is the central part between Crowdin, our translation tool, and the TYPO3 installations out there.
Here is a brief explanation of what the bridge does:
Download translations from Crowdin and copy those files to the translation server (localize.typo3.org)
When you download translations in your TYPO3 installation, they are fetched from localize.typo3.org
Furthermore the bridge provides a dashboard with an overview of the translation status.
The TYPO3 Localization Team will be happy to assist with testing and documentation.
As this is critical, I would wish that it would not need a community budget.
Maybe as an idea for the future, the Localization or Core Teams could apply for or use an existing maintenance budget.
Anyways, I fully support this budget of course.
Fully agree here. Mission critical tasks like that should not rely on a community voting and depend on the resulting budget but should be covered by a dedicated core budget instead, even if the necessary amount might be higher in the end than the one that is currently asked for.
