I have a UI consistency bug in version 12 and up. When editing a page settings in a alternate language, We have now a lot of fields with a control to change the translation behavior. For the majority of them, a field cannot be edited if the translation behavior is set to “value of default language” and this is the right thing to do! But fields adding relations are not disabled! What we have is that a content editor can add a new media file, edit the description and then save… but as the translation behavior is set to “value of default language”, the new media file is lost without any error message. A new media file could only be added when “custom value” is set for translation behavior.
To be consistent, those buttons (create new relation, select & update files, add media by URL, etc) must be disabled like all the other fields if the translation behavior is set to “value of default language”. It could prevent a lot of frustration for all our content editors!
