Thomas Maroschik - candidate for the 2025 board election

I'm Thomas, the CTO of DFAU GmbH, the creators of toujou. My journey with TYPO3 started back in 2004, while I was still in school. In 2008, I attended my first Developer Days and was immediately captivated by the community. I was so enthusiastic that I even hosted the Developer Days twice in my hometown of Nuremberg, in 2015 and 2016. Before I joined the TYPO3 Core Team, a role I had to step away from in 2018 due to changing personal priorities.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. I’m happy to answer them.

Kind regards,

Hi,

I have some questions about things I find important in the TYPO3 Association and community:

I’d really appreciate if you took the time to answer these questions (or some of them, depending on which topics you find important). Thanks!

Dear Oliver

Thank you for your effort to create this catalogue of suggestive questions. As I was involved in the conflict of the board and you, I feel that these questions aim at exposing the present board members handling of your particular case and I really don’t like the way you do this. This is not a communication culture that resembles the values of the project. You in particular as a communication coach should know this, and it appears to me that you use your knowledge for your own hidden agenda.

If you find that we acted in an inappropriate way, then please ask the General Assembly as the highest governing body of the TYPO3 Association via a petition as a member to take care of this.

Contributing to the TYPO3 Board is a significant responsibility, demanding an average of 0.5 to 1 day per week. This involves (list is not complete and not sorted by amount of work):

  • Regular board meetings
  • Virtual and in person meetings with teams and groups
  • Quarterly multi day in person meetings with the board
  • Attendance at key TYPO3 events
  • Actual board-related work

Do you have the resources to fulfill this?

Since you are already a board member you already have proven it - so a simple yes might be enough .

Then a simple yes is enough

Unless I was on vacation, I attended every meeting and every TYPO3 key event.
Furthermore I tried to attend every TYPO3 Community Sprint, contributed many days to the Product Strategy Group and represented the TYPO3 Association and project on international events.

I cannot and don’t want to quantify how much time went into all of this as I’m mostly focused on outcomes instead of output and effort.
