Another Talk about CKEditor5 - How are your personal feelings?

Am i the only one being so frustrated with this limiting piece of really bad software? If not - there should be a discussion on the possibility of using different RTE implementations. The editor architecture is just painful, writing plugins is complicated but there is not a huge set of usable plugins available, the whole thing just does not feel helpful at all. CKEditor4 was WAY better for me as a integrator. And the situation is not getting better, feature requests are not being worked on, very important features from CKEditor4 won’t get migrated and there is no replacement, new plugins for v5 are worse then the v4 alternatives. Moving to V5 still feels like a downgrade to me.

Hey @majpay, I can feel your pain and we experienced exactly the same. You can read my Blog post about it here. Therefore, as @mbrodala already mentioned, we built an alternative RTE for TYPO3 using TipTap. We use it in real projects already and want to keep improving it. Take a look here and give it a try: GitHub - in2code-de/typo3-tiptap: Repository of the tiptap initiative

Thank you, those links mean a lot to us  I opened an issue in our internal tracker, we are evaluating. Leaving CKEditor5 behind would be good imo.
