Hi there,
in my Typo3 installation (v. 11.5.5) I added the extension News (tx_news, 9.2.0).
Works basically. However, I can not add an author in the backend. Below the teaser there is only Date & Time, Archive and Text.
The fields for Author and eMail of the author are not available.
